Husky 716 Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps Information

Husky 716 Air‑Operated Diaphragm Pump

Overview

The Husky 716 is a 3/4‑inch air‑operated double diaphragm pump designed for medium‑flow industrial transfer applications. It uses a stall‑free, low‑pulsation air valve to deliver smooth, consistent changeover and stable flow. The bolt‑through fluid covers improve sealing integrity and long‑term durability, making the 716 a reliable choice for chemical transfer, coatings, solvents, and general industrial fluids.

Performance

The 716 delivers up to 16 gpm (61 L/min) with a maximum working pressure of 100 psi. It operates on air pressures from 30 to 100 psi and maintains strong suction lift performance, achieving 15 ft dry and 25 ft wet with water and Buna balls. The pump cycles up to 400 cpm and moves 0.04 gallons per stroke, supporting steady, predictable output in continuous‑duty environments.

Connections

The 716 uses 3/4‑inch fluid connections and supports NPT(F), BSPT(F), or BSPP(F) thread forms. Air inlet and exhaust ports are 1/4 npt(f) and 3/8 npt(f), respectively. This allows the pump to integrate easily into standard industrial plumbing without requiring special adapters.

Materials & Wetted Options

The 716 is available in aluminum or 316 stainless steel fluid sections. Wetted components include aluminum, stainless steel, PTFE, and zinc‑plated steel for aluminum models, and 316 stainless steel and PTFE for stainless models. This range supports a wide variety of industrial chemicals, solvents, and process fluids. Non‑wetted components include polypropylene, stainless steel, nickel‑plated brass, epoxy‑coated steel, and polyester labels.

Air System & Control

The air valve is fully serviceable and requires no lubrication. The pump consumes a maximum of 0.28 scfm and operates quietly, producing 67–85 dBa depending on pressure and cycle rate. Remote‑pilot operation is supported for automated systems, and unrestricted exhaust is required for proper cycling.

Installation & Mounting

The 716 supports multiple mounting orientations and can be installed in wall‑mount, stand‑mount, or transfer configurations. Its metal construction provides higher temperature capability, with aluminum and stainless steel models rated up to 225°F depending on the fluid. Flexible hoses are recommended on both suction and discharge lines.

Serviceability

The 716 is designed for fast maintenance with accessible ball checks, diaphragms, and air‑valve components. All wear parts are available in dedicated repair kits. The pump’s simple mechanical layout and bolt‑through covers support consistent rebuilds and long service life.

Applications

The 716 is suited for solvents, coatings, adhesives, inks, water treatment chemicals, and general industrial fluids. Its metal wetted construction and broad temperature range make it a strong fit for OEM systems, process skids, and environments requiring durable, chemically compatible transfer equipment.
