Husky 205 Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps Information

Husky 205 Air‑Operated Diaphragm Pump

Overview

The Husky 205 is a compact 1/4‑inch air‑operated double diaphragm pump designed for small‑volume chemical and process transfer. Its spring‑loaded check valves allow the pump to prime quickly and maintain suction in any mounting orientation. The end‑porting manifold supports interchangeable inlet and outlet positions, making it easy to integrate into tight OEM layouts or retrofit installations.

Performance

The 205 delivers up to 5 gpm (19 lpm) with a maximum working pressure of 100 psi. The spring‑check design improves priming and reduces air entrapment, especially in vertical or inverted mounting. Like all Husky pumps, it runs dry without damage, self‑primes, and stalls under pressure for simple, safe flow control.

Materials & Wetted Options

The series is available in polypropylene, acetal, and PVDF to support a wide range of chemical compatibility needs. Diaphragm options include Santoprene and true‑formed PTFE for long life and clean discharge. Ball and seat materials vary by model, with options covering general‑purpose, chemical‑resistant, and weighted configurations.

Air System & Control

The internal air valve provides smooth, lube‑free operation with minimal maintenance. For automated systems, the 205 can be controlled remotely using an external solenoid or PLC‑driven valve. Proper air filtration and unrestricted exhaust are recommended for consistent cycling and diaphragm life.

Installation & Mounting

The pump ships with a 90° mounting bracket for wall or base installation. Because the spring checks maintain prime, the pump can be mounted in any orientation. The OUT port must face upward for best priming performance. Flexible hoses are recommended for both suction and discharge, and unused manifold ports must be plugged.

Serviceability

The 205 is fully field‑serviceable with separate air‑valve and fluid‑section kits. Diaphragms, checks, and o‑rings can be replaced without special tools, and all fasteners use standard torque values for consistent rebuilds. The air valve can be serviced externally without disturbing the fluid section.

Applications

Typical uses include chemical feed, water treatment additives, solvents, inks, coatings, detergents, and general industrial transfer. Its small footprint and orientation‑agnostic design make it ideal for OEM skids, dosing systems, and compact process equipment.
