Husky 1050 Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps

Husky 1050 Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps

HUSKY 1050 SERIES — 1" DIAPHRAGM PUMPS

Air‑Operated • Electric Air‑Charged • High‑Pressure 2:1

Series Overview

  • 1" diaphragm pump series with three variants:
    1050 (Pneumatic)1050e (Electric Air‑Charged)1050HP (High‑Pressure 2:1)
  • Common fluid section architecture across all variants
  • Wetted materials: Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Hastelloy, Polypropylene, Conductive Polypropylene, PVDF
  • Elastomers: Buna‑N, Santoprene, Geolast, PTFE, FKM, Polychloroprene
  • Self‑priming, runs dry, no rotating seals
  • Handles up to 1/8 in (3.2 mm) solids

Key Features

  • Low‑pulsation operation across all variants
    • Pneumatic: stall‑free modular air valve
    • Electric: air‑charged drive reduces pulsation without dampeners
    • HP: spring‑loaded pilots for fast changeover
  • Extended diaphragm life
    • Up to 5× longer vs. competitive AODDs
    • Air‑charged drive (1050e) increases life
    • Additional diaphragm layer (1050HP) for high‑pressure durability
  • Selectable performance modes (1050HP)
    • Operate as a standard AODD or a 2:1 high‑pressure pump
    • Low‑pressure mode reduces air consumption up to 50%
  • Efficiency advantages
    • 1050: ~30% more efficient than market leader
    • 1050e: up to 5× energy savings vs. pneumatic
    • 1050HP: high pressure without sacrificing flow
  • Serviceability
    • Externally serviceable pilots (air models)
    • Modular, lube‑free air valve (air models)
    • Shared wetted parts across variants reduce inventory
  • Compliance & configuration
  • ATEX configurations available
  • Multiple motor/gearbox options for 1050e (AC, ATEX, XP, BLDC, NEMA, IEC)

Fluid Ports

  • Metal Models (Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Hastelloy):
    • 1 in. NPT(F) or 1 in. BSPT(F)
    • Stainless steel center‑flange models available with 1 in. ANSI/DIN raised‑face flanges
  • Plastic Models (Polypropylene, Conductive Polypropylene, PVDF):
    • 1 in. ANSI/DIN raised‑face flange
  • Manifolds are reversible to change inlet/outlet orientation
  • Unused ports are plugged where applicable

Mounting & Orientation

  • Mount pump horizontally with feet at the bottom
  • Ensure mounting surface supports pump weight and operational load
  • Maintain clear access to air inlet, fluid inlet, fluid outlet, and air valve
  • Avoid vertical or wall mounting
  • 1050HP requires adequate air supply for high‑pressure mode
  • 1050e requires clearance for motor/gearbox ventilation and wiring

Grounding

  • Required when operating in hazardous, flammable, or static‑sensitive environments
  • Metal pumps (Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Hastelloy) include a grounding screw for static discharge
  • Plastic pumps (PP, CP, PVDF) only require grounding when used in applications where static buildup is a risk
  • Ground air and fluid hoses when grounding is required
  • 1050e models follow motor/drive electrical grounding requirements (per UL/CE), separate from static grounding
  • Verify system continuity when grounding is used

Applications

  • General Transfer: chemicals, solvents, coatings, inks, wastewater
  • Shear‑Sensitive Fluids: paints, resins, specialty chemicals (1050e)
  • Abrasive Slurries: ceramics, mining, wastewater solids
  • High‑Pressure Requirements:
    • Filter press feed
    • Long hose runs
    • High‑pressure spray systems (1050HP)
  • Energy‑Sensitive Facilities:
    • Plants reducing compressed‑air usage (1050e)
  • Hazardous / ATEX Environments:
  • All variants available with compliant configuration
