The SKX Series is designed to provide reliable shredding performance in wastewater applications where corrosion resistance is required. By combining stainless steel construction with a shredding impeller system, the pump reduces clogging while resisting chemical attack and corrosion-related wear.

Construction and Materials

The SKX Series is constructed entirely from 316 stainless steel across all major wetted components, including the motor housing, volute, and suction cover. This eliminates the need for coatings and provides long-term resistance to corrosive liquids. The shredding system uses tungsten carbide cutting elements for wear resistance, and dual mechanical seals operating in an oil chamber provide reliable sealing. FKM elastomers are used for chemical compatibility.

Hydraulic and Pump Design

The pump uses a non-clog shredding impeller system designed to process solids before discharge. This allows the pump to handle fibrous and debris-laden wastewater while maintaining consistent hydraulic performance. Depending on the model, the pump can process solids up to approximately 3.5 inches. The design supports both free-standing and guide rail installations.

Motor and Operational Design

The SKX Series is available in both high-speed two-pole and lower-speed four-pole motor configurations. Motors are protected by built-in thermal and amperage overload systems and are designed for continuous-duty operation. Insulation ratings vary by model, with smaller units typically using Class F insulation and larger models using Class H insulation. Seal Minder® moisture detection provides early warning of seal failure.

Model Variations

The SKX Series includes a wide range of models to accommodate different flow and head requirements. Smaller units such as the SKX08CSS and SKX750CSS provide compact solutions for lower flow applications. Mid-range models such as the SKX15CSS, SKX22CSS, and SKX37CSS offer increased performance for general wastewater systems. Larger units including the SKX55CSS, SKX75CSS, SKX110CSS, and SKX150CSS provide high-capacity performance for demanding installations. The SKX1500CSS offers a compact single-phase option for applications where three-phase power is not available.
