BCS-BCSF Series End Suction Centrifugal Stainless Steel Pumps Information

Features & Benefits

BCS & BCSF Series Technical Specifications and Mechanical Overview

The BCS and BCSF Series represent a high-tier hydraulic solution for fluid transfer tasks across industrial, commercial, and municipal landscapes. These centrifugal pumps are engineered for operators who require the ultimate in material compatibility and mechanical reliability. By utilizing AISI 316 stainless steel for every major wetted component—including the body, seal plate, impeller, and shaft sleeve—these pumps eliminate the risk of fluid contamination and maximize the lifecycle of the hardware in aggressive or high-purity environments.

Mechanical Integrity and Advanced Material Science

The structural foundation of the BCS/BCSF series is its AISI 316 stainless steel construction, which offers superior resistance to corrosion and oxidation. To ensure a leak-proof and durable seal under continuous duty, these pumps utilize high-specification mechanical seals:

  • BCS Seal (Type 01): Features a high-performance combination of carbon/silicon-carbide faces with Viton® elastomers and 316 SS metal components.

  • BCSF Seal (Type 12): A robust mechanical design utilizing the same premium silicon-carbide and Viton® materials for high-temperature and chemical resilience. The use of Viton® O-rings as a standard ensures that the internal seals remain compatible with a wide array of industrial chemicals and high-temperature fluids up to 250 °F

Optimized Impeller Design and Solids Handling

The series offers two distinct hydraulic profiles to meet specific application needs. The BCS Series utilizes an open impeller design, which is specifically engineered to allow for the passage of spherical solids up to 3/8". This prevents clogging and internal damage in applications like effluent transfer or industrial wash-water where debris is present.

Conversely, the BCSF Series utilizes a closed impeller for maximum hydraulic efficiency. This design is focused on clean water and chemical transfer applications, ensuring the highest "wire-to-water" performance for pressure boosting and high-volume circulation. Both impeller types are precision-cast from AISI 316 stainless steel to prevent internal erosion and maintain factory-level performance over years of operation.

Motor Performance and NEMA Standardization

The BCS and BCSF Series are powered by NEMA standard motors, ensuring that replacements and parts are readily available.

  • BCS Motors: Utilize 56J frame motors (0.5 to 3 HP). Single-phase models include built-in overload protection with an auto-reset feature for added safety.

  • BCSF Motors: Utilize JM shaft extensions (0.5 to 20 HP) for more demanding industrial loads.

  • Enclosure Options: Both series are available in Open Drip-Proof (ODP) for clean environments and Totally Enclosed Fan-Cooled (TEFC) for washdown or dusty locations. The motor is supported by a rugged cast iron intermediate coupling finished with solvent-based enamel, providing a rigid and vibration-resistant frame for the stainless steel liquid end.

Operational Reliability for Modern Industry

With a maximum working pressure of up to 175 PSIG and the ability to handle both 60 Hz single-phase (115/208-230 V) and three-phase (208-230/460 V) power, these pumps are built as "drop-in" solutions for nearly any industrial facility. Every piece of hardware—from the external bolts to the internal shaft sleeve—is made of high-quality stainless steel (AISI 304 or 316). This ensures that the exterior of the pump is just as resistant to harsh environmental conditions as the interior is to the fluid being pumped. Whether you are managing a brewery, a chemical processing plant, or a municipal water treatment station, the BCS/BCSF Series delivers the cleanliness, durability, and longevity required for modern fluid transfer operations.
