The XP‑JXH Series is designed for hazardous environments where higher head performance is required along with explosion-proof protection and corrosion resistance. The pump combines stainless steel construction with a high-speed motor to deliver increased discharge pressure while maintaining safe operation in classified locations.

Construction and Materials

The XP‑JXH Series utilizes a cast 316 stainless steel wet end, including the impeller and volute, providing strong resistance to corrosive liquids. The motor housing is constructed of cast iron and protected with an industrial epoxy coating. Stainless steel hardware and FKM elastomers are used throughout the pump to enhance durability and chemical compatibility.

Hydraulic and Pump Design

The XP‑JXH Series features a high head dewatering hydraulic design optimized for applications requiring greater vertical lift or system pressure. The pump is capable of handling solids up to approximately 3/8 inch, making it suitable for industrial dewatering applications with light solids content.

Performance across the series increases progressively by model. The XP‑JX15HSS provides moderate flow and head for smaller systems, while the XP‑JX22HSS delivers higher head capability for mid-range applications. The XP‑JX37HSS provides the highest performance in the series, reaching approximately 190 GPM and over 100 feet of head.

Motor and Operational Design

The XP‑JXH Series is equipped with an FM‑approved explosion-proof motor designed for Class I, Division 1, Groups C and D hazardous environments. The motor operates at approximately 3450 RPM using a 2‑pole configuration to produce elevated head pressure. It is rated for continuous duty and incorporates Class F insulation for durability in demanding conditions.

Thermal protection is provided through embedded temperature sensors within the motor windings. These sensors automatically interrupt operation if excessive heat is detected and reset when temperatures return to safe limits.

Sealing and Protection Systems

The XP‑JXH Series uses a double mechanical seal system in an oil-filled chamber, along with an additional lip seal to provide redundant protection. Silicon carbide and carbon seal materials ensure resistance to wear and corrosion. A Seal Minder® system is included to monitor moisture in the seal chamber and alert operators to potential seal failure.
