The R Series provides a cost-effective, lightweight dewatering solution for low horsepower applications. It is designed for portability, ease of installation, and reliable operation in general pumping conditions. The combination of compact size and durable materials allows these pumps to perform consistently in field environments while minimizing handling effort and setup time.

Construction and Materials

The R Series incorporates a 304 stainless steel motor housing paired with a cast iron volute to provide strength and heat transfer during operation. Impellers vary by model but are typically constructed from cast iron or reinforced materials suited for light abrasive conditions. The sealing system consists of a carbon and ceramic upper seal combined with a silicon carbide lower mechanical seal to improve durability. Standard elastomers are Buna-N, with other material options available depending on application compatibility.

Hydraulic and Pump Design

The top discharge design allows the pumped liquid to flow around the motor housing, improving cooling and enabling operation in lower water levels compared to conventional designs. A suction strainer protects the hydraulic components by limiting the size of solids entering the pump. The design is optimized for clean to lightly contaminated water and provides reliable operation in temporary and portable installations.

Motor and Operational Design

The R Series operates using a high-speed, two-pole motor running at approximately 3450 RPM. The motor is equipped with Class F insulation to withstand elevated temperatures and includes built-in thermal overload protection to prevent overheating. The pumps are available in both single-phase and three-phase configurations, allowing flexibility across different power systems. All models are designed for continuous duty operation when properly submerged.

Model Variations

The R Series includes a range of models intended to cover low to moderate flow and head requirements. Standard models such as the R100, R250, R400, and R750 are used for general dewatering applications. Higher capacity models such as the R1500 and R15 provide increased head and flow performance. The R400D variant is uniquely designed for pump-down applications, allowing the removal of water to extremely shallow levels where standard pumps cannot operate effectively.
