The KZN‑HYD Series combines the proven abrasion resistance of the KZN platform with the flexibility of hydraulic operation. This allows operators to control pump output dynamically while maintaining durability in tough slurry conditions.

The built-in agitator ensures solids remain suspended, improving efficiency and preventing material buildup in sumps and basins.

Construction and Operational Design

KZN‑HYD pumps are constructed using ductile iron housings with abrasion-resistant high chrome iron components in the impeller, wear plate, and agitator. These materials are designed to withstand heavy wear from sand, sludge, and slurry.

The semi-open impeller allows the pump to handle high concentrations of abrasive solids while minimizing clogging.

A dual mechanical seal system with silicon carbide faces is used to provide reliable sealing in harsh conditions. The seal chamber is oil-filled for cooling and lubrication, extending seal life.

Hydraulic Drive System

The pumps are powered by hydraulic motors, allowing operation through open-center hydraulic systems. Performance is controlled by adjusting hydraulic flow and pressure:

• Lower flow = reduced speed and output
• Higher flow = increased speed, flow, and head

Hydraulic motors allow the pump to stall without damage and operate safely without electrical components, making them suitable for highly variable or controlled applications.
