Construction and Operational Design

KZE pumps are constructed using cast iron housings and high chrome iron hydraulic components. The impeller, wear plate, volute, and agitator are made from hi-chrome material to maximize resistance to abrasive wear.

The pump utilizes a semi-open impeller design that allows solids to pass through without plugging, making it ideal for heavy slurry applications.

A double mechanical seal system protects the motor from fluid intrusion. The lower seal uses silicon carbide faces for abrasion resistance, while the upper seal uses carbon/ceramic materials. The seal chamber is oil-lubricated for cooling and longevity.

Additional protection is provided by heavy-duty lip seals and labyrinth rings that prevent abrasive solids from entering critical components.
