911 Series ANSI Centrifugal Process Pumps Information

Features & Benefits

The Barmesa 911 Series: A Masterclass in Hydraulic Engineering

The Barmesa 911 Series is defined by its meticulous construction and the high-grade materials used in every component. Designed for horizontal suction and vertical discharge, this centrifugal pump series is the result of continuous inspection and a "quality-first" manufacturing process. Every unit is crafted to ensure that with proper installation and periodic monitoring, the pump provides a satisfying and lasting service life, even under the most punishing operating conditions.

Structural Integrity and Material Science

To survive the diverse chemistry of modern industry, the 911 Series is constructed with extra-heavy castings that feature a greater wall thickness than conventional pumps. This added mass provides a rigid foundation that resists slippage and distortion from piping loads, ensuring that internal alignments remain true over years of service. For chemical compatibility, the series utilizes a range of materials: Ductile Iron for standard applications, 316 Stainless Steel for corrosive environments, and CD4MCu (Duplex Stainless Steel) for applications requiring extreme strength and resistance to both corrosion and abrasion.

The Power End: Protection by Design

The heart of the 911 Series' longevity lies in its bearing box and shaft assembly. The bearing box features a rigid construction with an extra-large oil sump, which significantly improves heat transfer and ensures the bearings remain cool during continuous operation. To prevent the primary cause of bearing failure—contamination—the series utilizes INPRO® Labyrinth "VBX" seals as a standard feature. These bronze seals isolate the lubrication media from the environment, ensuring the oil remains unpolluted by dust, vapors, or moisture.

The heavy-duty shaft, available in 4140 steel or a sleeveless 316 stainless steel option, is engineered to minimize vibration and limit shaft deflection to less than 0.002 inches. This stability is critical, as it protects the mechanical seal faces and extends the life of the high-speed angular contact ball bearings, which are designed to support combined axial and radial loads simultaneously.

Performance Specifications

Hydraulic Performance and Sealing Flexibility

The fully open impeller design is the industry standard for handling solids, fibrous materials, and corrosive slurries. The impeller is threaded to the drive shaft and isolated from the pumped fluid by a Teflon ring, ensuring the threads remain clean and easy to disassemble during maintenance. Integrated back pump-out vanes reduce hydraulic loads and back pressure in the seal chamber, which is essential for maximizing the lifespan of the mechanical seal.

Because the mechanical seal is the most frequent point of failure in any process pump, the 911 Series offers unmatched sealing flexibility. The oversized seal plates are designed to accommodate a variety of cooling plans and seal configurations, including:

  • Single Interior and Cartridge Seals: Optimized for non-corrosive liquids to mild abrasives.

  • Conventional Double and Double Cartridge Seals: The premier choice for toxic, hazardous, or highly abrasive liquids.

  • Double Gas Barrier Seals: An advanced solution for toxic liquids or environments where external drainage is not accepted, effectively increasing the seal lifespan and reducing maintenance costs.

Typical Services & Ideal Applications

Applications:

Automotive, Food & Beverage, Textile, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Pulps & Paper

Precision Maintenance and Operational Control

Efficiency is as much about maintenance as it is about flow. The 911 Series includes an external clearance adjustment feature, allowing operators to calibrate the tolerance between the volute and the impeller externally. This ensures that as the pump experiences natural wear, the original flow, pressure, and efficiency levels can be restored without a full teardown. Coupled with the oversized one-inch "bulls-eye" sight glass for instant oil monitoring and the quick-access back pull-out design, the 911 Series is built to respect the time of maintenance teams while delivering relentless industrial performance.
